Los Angeles, California

The Hollyhock House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and located in East Hollywood’s Barnsdall Art Park, is the first and only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Los Angeles. Commissioned by heiress Aline Barnsdall between 1918–1921, the house is a landmark "California Romanza" masterpiece, merging Mayan Revival with Modernism. The house features stylised hollyhock flower motifs integrated into the structure.

Buddhist influenced Japanese design principles are incorporated to create a "half-house, half-garden" sanctuary focusing on tranquility, natural light, and harmony.
